APG is managing the heritage transformation of 256 Crown Street into Australia’s first Soho House in Darlinghurst, delivering a multi-level private members’ club while balancing conservation and contemporary design.

Soho House Darlinghurst

The making of Soho House Darlinghurst: A landmark heritage transformation.

APG has been engaged as Project Manager and Superintendent for the delivery of Australia’s first Soho House in Darlinghurst, located at 256 Crown Street.

The project involves the adaptive reuse and vertical expansion of a significant heritage building, incorporating the refurbishment of the existing structure, basement areas, and the addition of two new upper levels, including a rooftop extension. Once complete, the venue will deliver a world-class private members’ club featuring bars, restaurants, studios, wellness facilities, and flexible workspace environments.

The development transforms a well-known Darlinghurst site into a contemporary multi-level hospitality destination while carefully balancing heritage conservation with modern architectural intervention. Given the complexity of works within a constrained urban site and live surrounding environment, careful planning and coordination across design, approvals, and construction phases is critical to successful delivery.

APG is drawing on its broader experience delivering Soho House projects internationally, providing integrated project management and cost advisory services to ensure alignment with global brand standards while navigating local authority and heritage requirements.

The project represents a significant addition to Sydney’s hospitality landscape, bringing a globally recognised members’ club to one of the city’s most iconic inner-city precincts.
