APG provided Project Management and Superintendent services for a new 77-room residential aged care facility in Richmond, integrating contemporary care within a significant heritage setting.
John Hood Terrace, Richmond
Preserving the character of an 1850s building while creating a contemporary place for residential care.
The $35M development for Mecwacare involved the partial demolition of the existing hotel, the retention of its heritage façade, and the construction of a new basement and a six-storey residential care facility.
As Superintendent, APG managed the program, quality assurance, contract administration and stakeholder coordination. APG also led a redesign of the interior scope, negotiating cost impacts and implementing the changes without affecting the overall program.
APG managed the project through handover, defect management and rectification. Now complete, John Hood Terrace provides 77 ensuite bedrooms and suites, along with communal spaces and amenities designed to support residents’ comfort and connection.
