APG is managing the delivery of Anglicare’s first Vertical Village in Merrylands from concept design through to completion. The new facility highlights an industry commentator’s prediction of a boom in vertical “apartment-style” aged care villages that integrate with allied care. Additionally, the Property Council of Australia has reported that the demand for retirement living for people over 65 is expected to double by 2025.

The Anglicare Vertical Village will include a high-rise mixed-use building with retail tenancies, lift lobbies, a loading area, village reception, community facilities & other commercial spaces. The accommodation will include Residential Care-Dementia Rooms and Home Rooms (each with en suite) and Residential Living Units with a common lounge area on each level.

The new facility reflects an increasing trend to encourage transition between aged care and retirement living allowing residents to lengthen their stay.
