APG is partnering with Sydney Catholic Schools to deliver the redevelopment of St Declan’s Catholic Primary School in Penshurst, driven by growing demand for Catholic education in the area.

The project involves the transformation of an existing school and parish site, underpinned by strategic property acquisitions and detailed master planning. APG has managed the end-to-end process on behalf of Sydney Catholic Schools—from development applications and enabling works to the reconfiguration of acquired sites, expanding the overall campus footprint.

This comprehensive redevelopment will provide:

• Six new General Learning Areas (GLAs) to accommodate student growth
• Expanded staff and administration facilities
• A multipurpose hall and school gathering space for educational and community use
• Upgraded learning environments to support flexible, modern teaching models
• Enhanced street presence and improved site connectivity
• A stronger community reputation as a provider of high-quality education

As part of the early works, APG successfully delivered a staged decanting program that enabled continued operation during construction. This included the transformation of the former school hall into three GLAs, group rooms, and bathroom facilities, as well as the refurbishment of existing buildings to create a new staff room, offices, and learning areas. A carefully planned demountable administration facility was also installed to maintain front-of-house operations—all executed within a highly constrained and live school environment.
