The Queen Victoria Building is a heritage listed building constructed in the 19th Century. It is located at 429-41 George Street in Sydney CBD. The QVB was built as a monument to the monarch, with Romanesque style architecture to give it its grand appearance.
The Strand Arcade is also a heritage listed building located at 195-197 Pitt Street, in the heart of Sydney CBD. It was one of the first Victorian buildings and only remaining arcade of its design in Sydney. It is described as “The finest public thoroughfare in Australia”.
Vicinity have recently acquired a majority stake in the ownership of the QVB and the Strand Arcade and the management rights of both centres. Following a detailed review of the QVB, Vicinity have decided to upgrade the amenities blocks and address the balustrade compliance issues in the QVB whilst simultaneously upgrading the Strand Arcade Balustrade.
APG have been engaged to date to project manage the design, authority approvals and tender of the works and then will continue the management of the construction works on site.
